Abu Simbel Temple

The Abu Simbel Temple is one of the greatest ancient Egyptian monuments, built by King Ramses II in the 13th century BC to honor himself and his wife, Queen Nefertari. The temple is famous for its massive rock-cut statues and was relocated in the 1960s to save it from Lake Nasser’s rising waters.

Start with the Valley of the Kings; your guide will explain the most important stories of the place and recommend the best tombs to visit. Next, explore the mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Your guide will explain the history of the temple before giving you free time to explore it yourself and take photos of the highlights. Finally, stop at the Colossi of Memnon.
