Philae Temple is one of Aswan’s most beautiful temples, dedicated to the goddess Isis. It stands on a picturesque island reached by a short boat ride and is known for its stunning carvings and scenic views.
High Dam
The High Dam in Aswan is one of the greatest engineering achievements of the 20th century, built between 1960 and 1970 to protect Egypt from floods and provide water and electricity.
Check out from the Nile Cruise and fly to Abu Simbel to visit the two magnificent temples of Ramses II. The village of Abu Simbel in Aswan hosts these two colossal rock temples, carved into the mountainside around 1200 B.C. The larger temple is dedicated to Ra-Horakhty, while the smaller one honors his wife, Queen Nefertari, and the goddess Hathor. With your Egyptologist guide, learn about the history, the relocation of the temples, and Ramses II’s victory at the Battle of Kadesh.
